SHINOLA HOTEL DETROIT WEDDING | JAIME + JOSH

If I could sum up our perfect kind of wedding day, i’d say “Jaime & Josh’s wedding day”. These two were SO sweet and kind. We started off the day in two different suites for Jaime and Josh at The Shinola Hotel. Both Jaime and Josh had such a relaxing vibe going in both of the rooms and it was so nice for them both to have a calming atmosphere to get ready in before seeing each other. We then took a stroll down to the pretty checkered hallway on the way to their venue, The Birdy Room at The Shinola Hotel, where they shared their first look. It was such a sweet an intimate moment between the two of them. We then took some portraits of them and their family so they would be able to join their cocktail hour after the ceremony. Their ceremony was outside on the terrace and these two were truly blessed with some AMAZING weather for this! With it being early May in Michigan, you truly never know but it worked out perfectly for them. The rest of the day went so amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off our true busy season!

Their story: “We met in NYC at work; Josh was the new cute guy who wore cardigans and was super sweet because he was from the Midwest (Michigan). He actually would tell you at first I annoyed him bc my laugh was so loud was would carry throughout the office. However, we both kinda had a little crush on each other which is crazy to say because we didn't even know each other at all maybe it was just infatuation but we started talking at a company happy hour and we noticed we only talked to each other the entire time. Then we started to have coffee walks together in bryant park and Josh was a great listener and asked questions. One thing led to another and we started dating. We moved in together in 2020 during COVID, we got a great deal and I loved our place together in the city. We decided to move to Charlotte 1) our covid deal was over and we could work remote 2) to be close to Josh's family (Mom) as he lost his Dad to Cancer. We've been through a lot together and know we are true partner in every sense of the word. I told Josh I wanted to be engaged before moving to Charlotte but didn't happen. We happen to have to go back to NYC for work and we got engaged on September 16th 2023, at Roosevelt Park in NYC and now are planning our wedding (which is coming up so soon). We are ready to start this next chapter of our lives together and we can't imagine a life without each other. He's my best friend and I'm excited for what our future holds! I'm also excited to get married in Detroit because it's a sense of home for Josh and also embodies that city vibe that is very much part of our story. We have friends coming from London who we met a work and our very much a part of our story everyone who is coming is in a way and I can't wait to celebrate with them all.”
