10 TIPS FOR THE MORNING OF YOUR WEDDING

The morning of your wedding day should be fun, stress-free and memorable. These are precious moments you are spending with your closest friends and family getting ready before you marry the love of your life! Having a game plan will help you to have the ideal wedding morning!

TIP #1: MAKE A BOMB PLAYLIST

Music is the best thing to set the mood to get your girls/guys pumped up for you (as if they already won’t be haha)! I promise fun music helps to calm any nerves too. Add in some throwbacks or great songs to sing along to and don’t forget the bluetooth speaker.

TIP #2: BRING A STEAMER

It’s easy for dresses to become wrinkled at the bottom, especially bridesmaid dresses from being in their dress bags for awhile (typically your bridal gown gets hung up and fluffed to prevent this). You will want to make sure that someone brings a steamer for you all to use. It’s super fast but it makes sucha big difference that you’ll be so thankful to have it there to ensure all your dresses are looking perfect for photos!

TIP #3: HAVE A SET SCHEDULE WITH BUFFER TIME

It’s sooo important to have a schedule with everything to do with your wedding, and the same goes for the morning of. The best way to start planning the morning schedule is by basing it all off of when you need to be at the next place. Some things to consider when making the schedule: what time do you need to wake up? What time is breakfast? Buffer time in between each big part of the morning will help to ensure that you aren’t stressed either if something does happen to take longer than expected.

Oh, and make sure you send your schedule with your vendors and make sure everything works with them as well. You want your photographer and videographer to be there to capture those important moments of putting your dress and jewelry on, etc.

TIP #4: EAT SOMETHING AND DRINK WATER!!

It’s easy to get anxious and caught up in the moment on the morning of your wedding, but it’s essential that you remember to eat and drink something. Designate someone to be on duty to remind you if that helps! You don’t necessarily need a huge breakfast but you should have a granola bar, bagel, or some fruit. And don’t forget water! It’s best to make sure that you have a water bottle with you all day to keep hydrated and energized for your busy and exciting day ahead of you!

TIP #5: LAY OUT ALL OF YOUR DETAILS FOR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER AND VIDEOGRAPHER

Most photographers and videographers come to you while you’re getting ready on your wedding day. Be sure to lay out all of your details so that they can capture them! If they aren’t capturing you getting ready, it’s still great for you to know where all of your important details are for when it’s time to put them on. Details to lay out:

- Wedding dress
- Garters
- Jewelry
- Shoes
- Invitations
- Bridal bouquet
- Bridesmaid bouquets
- Bridesmaid shoes
- Bridesmaid dresses
- Any other special details you want to be captured

TIP #6: DECIDE AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU WANT TO EXCHANGE LETTERS WITH YOUR FIANCE

Writing letters has become quite popular nowadays and I have to say, it’s one of my favorite moments. Having something to read from your fiance right before your first look or before you walk down the aisle will be one of the most memorable and sweet parts of your day. If you choose to do this, it’s best to write it out and have it ready prior to the wedding day, so you aren’t taking the time to do it that morning and having to stress out over it.

TIP #7: HAVE YOUR BRIDESMAIDS CLEAN AND PACK EVERYTHING UP FOR YOU

Make sure your bridesmaids are packing up all of your essentials for your emergency kit to have throughout the wedding day in case anything should happen. They’ll be ready first, so they’ll have plenty of time to get everything ready for you! It’s also nice to have them help to tidy up your getting ready area; whether it be your hotel for the night or someone’s house - you’ll be so thankful to come back to a clean space after your long day!

TIP #8: DEDICATE A GOOD AMOUNT OF TIME FOR PHOTOS/VIDEO

Photos and videos of your wedding day are extremely important. While your photographer will be taking candid shots while you’re getting ready, you’ll also want to make sure that you allot time for bridal portraits, as well as photos with each bridesmaid. It’s best to get your bridal portraits done right after you’ve finished getting ready so your makeup and hair are looking fresh; and then we can move on to bridesmaids. Taking these before all of the festivities will make for less of a rush for getting family portraits, the full bridal party, and your couple’s portraits. If you can get any photos/video done prior to your ceremony, I say do it! This helps make for a smoother transition plus gives you more time to celebrate with your guests after the ceremony.

TIP #9: ENJOY THIS TIME WITH YOUR BEST GALS

These are your last moments as a “single lady” (okay you aren’t really single before the wedding day but you get what I mean haha), so soak in every moment with your girls! Laugh your heart out and spend some quality time with them. Sing at the top of your lungs to that bomb playlist, thank each of them separately and together, and really just soak in this moment.

TIP #10: SPEND SOME TIME ALONE

This is one of the biggest, most important days of your life. It’s also kind of exhausting (but in a great way!). It’s important to have some time alone at some point during your day. Sit alone and truly soak in everything and reflect on what got you to this day. The rest of your day will be spent socializing so having some time by yourself is so essential.

Oh, and be EXCITED because it’s your WEDDING DAY!
